Employment Services for People Living with Disabilities
Our goal is to provide services that are flexible in meeting individuals’ needs for sustainable employment and self-reliance. These services are designed to assist people living with disabilities who are interested in increasing work skills, finding a job, or volunteering in the community. A disability can be a condition you were born with, a learning disability, a mental health condition, a brain injury, being deaf or hard of hearing, loss of mobility, a lost limb, or a permanent injury acquired from an accident, the list goes on.
Services for which you may be eligible include:
- Assessments – these can include the Learning Disability Assessment, Neuropsychological Vocational Assessment, Physical/Functional Capacity Assessment, or Ergonomic Assessment
- Access to assistive technology or other work devices to ensure you have the tools to be successful in the workplace
- Disability management and tools support
- Referral to other appropriate community agencies
- Referral to Customized Employment Services

Customized Employment Services
Our goal is to provide support to both the Job Seeker and the Employer by creating a new job that is customized to the individual needs of the Job Seeker while also meeting the needs of the Employer.
Services include:
- Negotiating a customized position with employers
- Ongoing support and communication between employer and employee to ensure a successful placement
- Unpaid Work Experience Assessments
- Job Coaching, including job site training
- To support the job seeker, assistance with funding for the purchase of specialized equipment such as assistive technology or other work devices
- Wage subsidy where up to 60% of the wage cost is paid for up to 52 weeks; short-term skills training is also paid
Employment Services for Survivors of Violence and Abuse
Our goal is to provide services that are flexible in meeting individual job seeker needs to achieve sustainable employment and self-reliance. Services are designed for job seekers who have experienced violence and/or abuse in their lives and who want to move forward towards a healthy, fulfilled lifestyle.
Services for which you may be eligible include:
- Employment counselling and support
- Help with recognizing and overcoming the impacts of violence and/or abuse
- Help identifying and assess your strengths and barriers
- An action plan that addresses your needs and goals
- Assistance with resume development, interview skills, and job search
- Career exploration and comprehensive skills assessments
- Referral for up to 10 counselling sessions
- Referral to other appropriate community agencies
- Referral to a Job Developer if appropriate for your needs
- Bridging Employment Services for Women cohort (group can be available for men only with enough referrals)
