Culinary & Outdoor Maintenance Attendant

Summary:

Works independently (with the support of the Hospice staff and volunteers) to prepare meals for the food program, while maintaining the Hospice lawn and gardens.

Description:

Terrace Regional Hospice Network Society (TRHNS) invites applications for the position of “Culinary & Outdoor Maintenance Attendant” This is a 30 hour a week position contract position, for a total of 9 weeks at $20/hour.

We are seeking a student interested in culinary arts and gardening.

Responsibilities:

• Creating a shopping list for meals to be prepped.
• Prepping food.
• Cooking.
• Baking.
• Cleaning and sanitizing as per food safety and sanitization plan.
• Collect data for number of meals made.
• Write a brief monthly report
• Document fridge and freezer temp checks.
• Planting seeds, flowers and vegetables.
• Tilling the earth and preparing garden beds.
• Weeding
• Mowing
• Raking

Qualifications:

• Must have Food Safe
• Experience in preparing and storing food
• Gardening experience, or willingness to learn
• Good time management
• Communication skills
• Solution focused thinking
• Creativity
